10 years ago a poor fisher drops his anchor in the water during a strong storm. And because of the waves the anchor stucked between rocks. (Right now his life is about to completely change). So after the storm had finished, he jumped into the water and dived deep to liberate his anchor. The shocking news is that the anchor wasn’t stuck on a rock at all, it was fixed to the shell of a giant clam…Can you imagine how the fu#k lucky he is !!
This exceptional clam held the largest pearl in the world…Yes you heard right…The biggest pearl on the planet. The poor fisherman took that huge pearl to his little lodge and consider it a good luck charm and put it right under his bad -Yes just that -.
The lucky…VERY let fisherman left the pearl that way for 10 years, until one day a fire destroid his home and was forced to take his 77 lbs pearl out to the world.
A little while after that he discovered that his baby pearl was worth more than 135 million dollars…OHHH BOY !
The anonymous lucky fisher, who discovered the famous pearl in Palawan Island in the Philippines, reveal it to Aileen Cynthia Amurao, a local tourism officer.
The local tourism officer was completely amazed espacially because the fisher had no interest in keeping the pearl and wanted to give it to the authorities.
“He didn’t know how much it was worth and kept it tucked away at home as a simple good luck charm.
We were amazed when he brought it to us. We now need help from gemologists to fully certify it. We’re waiting for authentication from the Gemologist Institute and other international authorities.
But we believe Puerto Princesca is likely to earn another prestigious title and a record breaker for having the world’s biggest natural giant pearl from a giant clam.
We will keep this here in the Philippines and I hope it will bring more tourists to the city.”
The present record title for the biggest pearl in the world (called the pearl of ALLAH) was registered also in 1934 in Palawan, Philippines.
One thing i didn’t understand, is why he gave that treasure to the authorities and why the tourism officer didn’t convince him to sell it. I think the only reason in the world why the fisherman didn’t sell the pearl is his fear of the authorities’s reaction.
